CHARACTERISTICS of Cable

Temperature
UL 10138 is rated at 80°C. UL 10113 is available in 60°C and 80°C versions.
Wire size
UL 10138 covers 32–10 AWG.
UL 10113 covers 36–16 AWG.
Therefore, UL 10113 supports smaller wire sizes.
Insulation thickness
UL 10138 requires thicker insulation.
UL 10113 allows thinner insulation and is more flexible in design.
Flame resistance
UL 10113 with standard PE insulation is not recommended for applications requiring flame resistance.
If flame performance is needed, the wire must explicitly state a rating such as VW-1, FT1, or FT2.
